I bought a bass and here's my first recording! :)

My bass arrived yesterday.

I've been playing guitar and I'm hopeless so I decided to try out the bass.
The bass is beautifull yet wierd animal and it's a bit strange for us guitarist to play properly. Here's a small tune I played and wrote. I play all instruments except the drum which is the drum machine. I'm am terribly off-time in some places and some notes are wrong, but I LOVE MY BASS!!!!!:

I'll get better at it! ;)

Cooollll! That was VERY tasty bluesy stuff there!! Kind of made me think of Robben Ford a little. Nice rounded off bass tone too. What did you run your bass through?

Groovy...smokin´

Great sound of bass and guitar. Frenzy jazzy.

Damn, nice bass you got there man.

Thanks guys. It plays like butter. I didn't want to buy 6 basses before I got the one I liked, so I went for the real thing. ;) My wife helped (she's concerned about all these guitars in the house)!

Really nice groove and playing man, as always. :smoker:

I think in your last few tunes you've been playing more tastefully than ever, I always enjoy your clips!

Are you sure you just started playing bass? That's some very non-beginner work on it. Although I'd definitely tell you not to completely give up the guitar. They both had some sweet tone.

Really? thanks!

Well, I've played bass as much as a guitarist does: on rehearsals when the bass player is late or absent, in shops, at friends houses, in my first bands when it wasn't clear who was the guitarist or bass player, etc....However, the last time I actually played bass with anyone was at least 16 years ago.

I gladly listen to bassists and I guess that I do have an idea of what I want the bass to sound like so I just try to pluck those notes. Whilst before buying a bass was an "unnecessary expense", I realised that I can afford and enjoy it now.

Yep, you're right...Due to the abundance of wannabe guitarists, the bass players have all the privilidges, being late and missing a rehearsal is one of them. :laugh2:

That's why I want to become one. ;)

This is a very, very good clip, I enjoyed it very much. You can hear that you put alot of feeling into it, and that makes it even better. I wanna thank you for making it.

By the way, what pickups do you have in your guitar? great tone.

Hey thanks. They are Kinman Avn-Blues pickups on a 1982 (Smith) stratocaster.
