So I picked uo this beauty on my lunch break:



Its made in Micronesia and I got it for a steal!!! Believe me when I tell you that this guitar's playability is well worth $30!
Don't be fooled by "other brand's" hype.

I'm not crazy about the paint job, I'll probably stip it down and refin. Because I have a reputation to uphold if you know what I mean.

I'll probably swap in some expensive USA made pickups, (even though asian made stuff is just as good).

I've always thought that Texas Specials have the only single coil tones that matter, so what sounds like texas specials, has the same build quality and components that I can buy for like 10 bucks?

Is that real plywood, or just MDF?

I don't know. I think its MDF based on past experience which is great because I've always preferred soft wood

Before buying this, did you exhaust all less-expensive options first? Because it's starting to look like you're a laughable fool for overspending.

That's actually good, because the glue is stronger than the sawdust anyway.

There is no "standard" when it comes to "good" or "bad" tone, or even quality. You might like a guitar, you might not. Nobody can tell you're right or wrong for liking what you like. That's the essence of subjectivity.

A "standard" would be if there was a world wide organization that drafted specs and parameters that dictated minimum levels of some quality that must be met in order for a thing to be considered decent enough for trade purposes, or what have you. Not only is there no such thing in relation to guitars, there's no need for such a thing, except perhaps to make customers of boutique guitars feel better about their purchases, to have some sense that they bought something beyond a certain line in the sand which everyone agreed upon.

Trust me, I own a guitar and have internet access.

So what I hear you saying is, you've got some vague sense of "quality" based on the exorbitant price of this thing, but you can't name one tangible, subjective feature that makes it what you call "better". I'd say you are not only stupid and wasteful but probably a war criminal as well. And you litter.

The only litter I'm concerned with is the garbage you're talking. My background gives me a vast knowledge of qualitative reasons that make this the best purchase on the planet, but you didn't ask nicely so I won't tell you...about my reasons, there's a ton of them...too many to list.

Magnet swaps can be a cheap alternative to an expensive pickup change. I know this because its true. I'd feel more comfortable spending about ten dollars.
