Turn down the plexi to 6 and play some old KISS stuff...

"Paul" = '57 Classic bridge
"Ace" = SD Custom

Drunken Ace chicken pickin' solo included

Nice tones.... of course...It wouldn't be a Kiss song without lots of minor b6/ sus6/ inverted 4th chord hammer ons -whichever you want to call them.

Hah! Yeah they love those chord/triad h/o-p/u's in their old stuff.

Re: I Can Haz Firehouse?

BTW, I think Vinnie Vincent is the worst style shredder ever -so I'll take the ACE and Paul inverted 4th hammer on -pull off ANY DAY!!!

Re: I Can Haz Firehouse?

Have you ever done a “Haz Nuno” thread?
Cuz, I’d love to pick your brain on that tone.

I don't have a Bill Lawrence pickup like he used.

I do have an ADA.

Here's the scoop from Michael Wagener himself:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/512890-post3.html

The setup for the guitar sound for the EXTREME sessions as well as the first SkidRow album and White Lion's "Pride" album (in most cases, not on all tracks) was a Furman PEQ-3 into an unmodified ADA MP-1 (version 1.0, still got it) going into a McIntosh transistor poweramps (2100) into an original Marshall cab with 4x G12H (30W). The mics were, if I remember it right: Fostex M11RP Ribbon, Countryman lavalier and possibly a SM57/58 going into John Hardy M-1s and from there via a mono buss into a UREI 530 EQ and a BBE 802 then to digital tape (Mitsubishi 32 tack)

Most of the sound came out of Nuno's hands, though.

ADA MP-1

Overdrive 1 : 4.0 dist
Overdrive 2 : 5.5 dist
Master Gain : 7.5 dist
Bass : 12
Mid : 6
Treb : 6
Pres : 12
Voicing : .tube
FX loop : off

From the ADA it went into the McIntosh 2100 (transistor) poweramp and from there into a vintage Marshall 4x12 cab with the original G12H inside. At that time I normally used Fostex M11RP ribbon mics and Countryman Lavalier mics through a John Hardy M1 to record guitar.

Re: I Can Haz Firehouse?

Yes and most importantly, fun to play.

Very simple guitar parts complementing each other. No self-indulgent wankery, just chicken pickin but that is almost a joke (meant to be funny?).

Back in my formative years whilst I worshiped at the feet of the 80's guitar gods, I scoffed at KISS and their super simplicity in makeup.

Little did I know it was all a cold, calculated assault meant to tickle eardrums with earworms and in turn loosen the grip on wallets.
