I did it again... *new pedal content*

Well...just when you think you have too many chorus pedals, something like this pops up:

dc.JPG

Found it at guitar showcase for about $170...pretty good condition, couple of scratches here and there of course, but overall very clean. Seen 'em go as high as 250 on ebay.

Got some very interesting sounds it...very chorus-like in many ways...but different. Difficult to describe.

Of course...whenever I get cool new pedals, I gotta take a look at the guts, so...

:eyecrazy:!!

Thats a ****ed tight layout. The board itself barely fits into the pedal. Crazy.

Finally, a family picture of my chorus pedals:

On top, from left to right: Boss DC-2, DOD stereo chorus 565, Voodoo Lab analog chorus

On bottom: Keeley modded boss CE-2, Homemade Boss CE-2 clone, BYOC fully loaded chorus.

Welcome to the Dimension C club :)

I picked mine up for $50 on a BIN on Ebay, person selling it obviously didn't know what it was worth. Had no box or instructions (not that you need 'em!) but is in mint condition.

Know what you mean about describing the sound - I always think its chorus but with extra shimmer.

Would like a DC-3 to compare but they're soooooo expensive

Enjoy

I've had both, kept the DC-3. There's a day and night difference since the DC-2 is analogue with four presets and the DC-3 is digital with regular set of knobs BOSS puts on the modern chorus pedals. (E. level; EQ; rate; depth)

For some reason, the DC-3 hums when connected to a power supply, even one with isolated outputs ! The hum is gone when a battery is used, but like all (early) digital pedals: it eats batteries like an idiot. :)

I hate the metallic and sterile sound of a regular digital chorus, but I was stunned this Digital Dimension. It's more like a doubler, with a very slight touch of slapback delay between left and right when it's hooked in stereo. (barely audible)

Now where analogue chorus pedals are all wobbly and thick and very dominating, this one is very spacious and subtle. You think like you're not playing with any chorus at all, until you turn it off. Then, your sound is will become boring.
It's perfect for adding that little something to clean rhythm and solos, but when used with distortion, it gives you that 80's metallic vibe that I don't really like.

For my thick analogue dominating wobbles, I use a CE-2. :)

Re: I did it again... *new pedal content*

You gotta love a pedal that has a trimpot with my screen name on it. ;)

Re: I did it again... *new pedal content*

This pedal is the latest "must-have".

A space-generating "doubling" effect that helps you sound huge, without mucking-up your tone, or sounding digital.

I believe Rid was debating purchasing the Behringer cheap-o copy of this pedal, but I'm not sure if he did nor not.

I can't believe Boss hasn't re-issued this yet, with the crazy prices they're fetching on the web.

Oh, you....well I can't say what you are with out getting banned. j/k.

I really want a DC-2, they are great pedals but I've recently grown fond of my arms and legs and don't what to pay them for one.

I'm pretty satisfied w/my CE-2.....for now.

If you've noticed, Boss doesn't reissue anything and seem to be going in the all digital direction. Not only does the DC-2 fetch a lot on ebay, but so do the CE-1/2, DM-2/3, PH-1/r/2, Japan DS-1, T-Wah, VB-2, Enhancer, etc...
