I have an FSR Stratocaster that has been home to 2 Suhr V60 pickups in the neck and middle with a Duncan SSL-5 at the bridge but lately the combination hasn't been doing it for me which has meant the guitar isnt getting used. Today I remedied that in a big way by putting in a set of Lollar Dirty Blondes. The set is 2 Blondes in the neck and middle, they are a fairly bright but not piercing set of 50's voiced singles with a Special in the bridge....which is a fairly hot but still strat pickup
The difference is night and day. Lollar pickups arent hype...they are the real deal. When you play softly the Blondes are airy and responsive...wen you dig in they really get loud. The Special in the bridge walks the line between a strat pickup and an almost P-90ish tone....maybe 80% Strat 20% P-90. It is just win all around.
I cant recommend these pickups highly enough.

And, since I had my soldering tools out, I decided to 'Hendrixify' a red Strat I made a while ago. I have had the pickguard around for a while and this guitar had an HSS configuration that was becoming boring to me. It has a couple Suhr ML pickups in the neck and middle and the Duncan Custom SSL-5 in the bridge which is brilliant sounding in this guitar.

Both of these changes have breathed new life into 2 guitars that were collecting dust.
