I Didn't Get The Strat, I Got This!

Re: I Didn't Get The Strat, I Got This!

I just found out that they are boat routed so you could use regular size HBs if you wanted to. I don't know why on earth you would want to change the pickups but a dremmel tool and a little skill can get the pickguard resized for HBs.

The wiring is reall great. It looks a lot like computer wiring than guitar wiring. No messy solder, just plug and play. Darn I'm impressed!

How do you like the switching options?

For those that don't know, I think it works like this (assuming my memory is worth a good god****):

1: Neck pickup
2: Inside coils of both pickups, in parallel
3: Neck pickup + inside coil of bridge
4: Inside coils in series
5: Bridge pickup

The switching options are just fine but I only use positions 1 and 5. The volume and tone knobs are very responsive. I love how well the volume knob cleans up better than any guitar I have every owned. I rarely use the tone knob.

With any combination of the knobs and switches this guitar can gan get some great tones. If anything, position 4 would be the only inside position I would probably use.

Those are nice looking guitars. What's the neck like, fat or skinny?

Just normal in width. The string spacing is like a Les Paul though. I really like the neck for sweep picking and 7,8,9 runs because it feels like there is room to maneuver.
