I absolutely agree with you in that it's not as cool as an amp. But at least out here, Buddas don't seem to be valued as highly as PRSi. The Superdrive owner is asking 800 and the PRS owner is asking 1200 after a price drop. I think that if I took the PRS, I could probably within two or three smart trades tops have a really really cool amp - something like a Mark V, a Rockerverb, a Bogner, a handwired Vox, or something like that. And that's exactly where I'd love to be.

Jordan.....you should borrow my AC30-CCH.
I did A LOT of work to it...including a Merc Mag choke, and a Heyboer (their clone of a Woden) Out Tranny...Sozo Caps (if you believe in that sort of thing) and more importantly, I did all of The Lyle Caldwell Mods.
Yeah...I am trying to sell it. But even if you not to buy it, you would really have a chance to see if a Vox is a good fit for you. This amp is about as close to a 1964-65 AC30 as you can get in a modern day amp.
Just something to think about.....

This amp may be out of my hands pretty quickly. I mean, I love it, I really love it, but if I can trade it for something even more awesome and/or valuable, I will, if for no other reason then to see how far I can make my $200 go. I already got a guy on CL that said he might be interested in trading me his pre-Peavy Budda Superdrive 30, and another that might want to trade me his PRS Custom 22 in... gasp... sparkly silver!

Yeah, it's the SW45. It has completely killed any Marshall-type amp GAS I have. Now the only reason I will get a Marshall type is if it's a crazy deal so I can flip it like this Mesa.

Thats the model I was thinking of, just couldnt remember the name! Been wondering about them, as the description sounds awesome.

Looks like the Mesa will be going to a new home tomorrow. It's all good, I'll be replacing it with something even more awesome, something that I've wanted for almost a decade now.

I have a Showman head and a Bassman cabinet! Both are '68 with drip edge just like yours. Zowie!

Indeed it is. It's a helluva combo. That cab is incredible sounding. I rebuilt the baffle since the original disintegrated about a year and a half ago, and I put a Cannabis Rex and a Texas Heat in it (it came to me empty) and I've never got a bad tone out of it, no matter the amp. My Egnater just slays through it.

Very nice indeed.....cannot believe the number of DE Bassmans you guys have. I always thought that was Fenders best look.....regardless of what a BF is worth...I still think the SF was a "nicer" looking amp.

The fiddle is my g/f's. Actually the amp is her's too, but I play it more than she does these days (she prefers our Tweed Champ). And that is indeed a Reverb Unit. It sounds awesome with the Bassman.
