I don't know much about speakers, but this can't be good… (broken magnet content)
I've owned this 412 for a few years now. One speaker never sounded quite right, quieter than the rest but I got a good deal on it and it sounded nice altogether so I never looked into it too far. Over time its only got worse, to the point where lately I was pretty sure there was nothing coming out of the speaker at all.
So I pulled it open and did the 9v test, which is a lot more difficult than advertised when you'd got a nosey cat…

Anyhow, I couldn't tell whether I was getting anything from the 9v due to the speaker's pair so I unhooked the problem speaker. Problem speaker did make a noise, albeit much much quieter. So I took it out to look at it and…

That looks pretty damn awful. Never seen anything like it really. All 3 other speakers work perfectly, zero magnet damage. What the hell happened here?
