Yea Christopher i guess it's possible. Anyway, I know a lot of people like the A-8, but at least for me, it was just too much, even for a hot pick-up known as a "Distortion"!
Demanic I dunno about double-thick A5 in a Custom, but since we're talking A8, have you tried a Custom-8? Now THAT i already know from experience is another great mag-swap combo. In fact it'll be NGD for me here pretty soon [
] and it'll be arriving with a Custom-5 bridge, which I intend to promptly swap out with an Alnico 8.

Hey Clint, what pots had you been running with your Distortion- 250, 500, 1 Meg? I'm running 500's right now, and although i'm hesitant to "mess with success", as long as it wouldn't affect the character of the pickups, I was thinking of trying 1-Meg pots. I figured that way i could back off the treble at the amp and still have some room for adjustment.
