I get a weird phasing sound on my setup.

Me again but this time I can't seem to get whats wrong. Here's a schematic of my wiring on a Fender of mine. It has Vintage Noiseless in the neck and middle and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. Simple 250k pots and a reg 5 way switch with a on/on/on for series/split/parallel and on/on to but my bridge in all pos.

I get this weird sound I haven't herd, only on my pedal board. It's like a phase wonk, wonk sound I get when I turn on my bridge pickup. It only comes on when I hit the on/on in pos 1, pos 3 and pos 4. When I hit it in pos 2, it sounds like it suppose to. The sound its pretty cool for an effect but not for what I would like it to be.

I think you've got that drawn wrongly. There's no output from the 5-way to the volume pot. Your switch also is not indicated properly. If you have the switch one way it only goes to the volume pot, the other way it only goes to the 5-way. One of the directions has to be to both.

If you've done everything correctly (apart from the ser/split/par toggle) then its working as it should. The only other issue is that if you are using Fender pickups with duncans then their polarity is opposite. You'll need to swap the hot/ground on one brand or other.

i c what u mean on the toggle switch. i'll try that. also what do u mean by swap the ground. where am i supposed to put it.

Could you have your bridge pickup too close to the strings, getting "Stratitus"? Lower your bridge pickup, just for the moment, and see if it disappears.

at first i had it low but it sounded the same. then i raised it and still sounds the same but a bit louder.

alright guys here's an update. i did the ground/hot (green went where black was, black went where green was) swap on my humbucker and changed the wire on my on/on switch to the one in the diagram. good news it works in pos 1, 2, 3 and 4. no more wonk wonk sound. but in the bridge pos the parallel mod on the on/on/on don't work. nothing comes from it, no sound what so ever. everything else fine. this is what it looks like now.

i know that but i get a weird sound when i activate my on/on for my bridge on pos 1,2,3,4. its sounds kinda like an effect, phase maybe but what i would like is what i got now. the series/split/parallel works on all the pos except pos 5. what i did was changing the green with the black but the parallel don't work in the bridge pos on the switch.

looking at that diagram, the bare wire from the jb should just go right to ground. not to the switch as pictured.

so as of right now, everything is fine but the parallel selection on the three way mini switch doesnt work correct? or you are still getting weird tones when the bridge pup is on with another pup?

the way it is now it works great with other pups but alone in pos 5 the parallel doesn't work. no sounds comes from it. in pos 1 2 3 4 it works

is the bare wire directly grounded? other than that your diagram looks like it should work.

does the bridge on/off switch effect anything when in pos 5?

ok just soldered the bare on to ground and now my bridge pickup doesn't make a..... so the bare to ground doesn't work. should i change back the black to green and then the bare?

no, the bare should go directly to ground. it should only be connected to the baseplate so should not effect the coils.

flipping the black and green will only effect phase.

it sounds like there is an issue else where. do you have a multimeter?

ok the on/on switch for this rig works two ways. up the bridge only works in pos 4 & 5. down the switch takes the bridge to all 5 pos. this is what i got so fare. before the black was where the green was supposed to go. like in this diagram http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=ssp
but here's the thing when the on/on switch activates the bridge to be in all pos. in pos1,2,3,4 i get a weird sound. so i was told to change the green with black in the on/on/on switch. i did that and it worked fine in pos 1,2,3,4,5 but the only part of the on/on/on switch that didn't work was the parallel part of the switch. the split and the series worked just fine. then i did what i was told to ground the bare. took the bare out of the switch and grounded it under one of the pots. no sound came from the bridge in any pos. so that is where i am right now.

do you have a meter?

so right now the bridge on switch works correctly and the 5 way works correctly

or does nothing work with the bare to ground

with the bare to ground the bridge doesn't work. with the bare in the toggle switch it does work but not in parallel and no my meter broke. i need to get me a new one.

ok here is what we got. my parallel doesn't work on any pos if i swap my green with the black and leave the bare grounded in the switch but i don't get the wonky phasing noise like i used to get. my split and series works fine in all pos. parallel in none. not pos 1 nor 2,3,4,5. its the only thing thats not working everything else works just fine. right now i have the green swapped with the black and the ground on the on/on/on anything other than this and it gets worse

i finally fixed the problem and i did just messing with the cables. i said "well since nothings working then lets just mix this here and there" with this i found the solution. thanks to all. what i do realize is that the tone pot doesn't do anything to my bridge when i activate it in pos 1,2,3 in pos 4,5 it woks well. i'm thinking when i activate it in pos 1 2 3 its in full output

when you use your bridge on switch it goes to the volume pot directly, bypassing the switch which is where your tone controls are attached
