I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

It sounds horrid and i cant get rid of the buzzing and i know it is the pick up.. Im going to get rid of it for a dimarzio super distortion as soon as i can... God I cant believe how crappy it is, sounds so dull. I play rock and a lot of melodic punk and this pickup sounds bluesy no matter what i try to do... Is their any other seymour duncan that would sound decent in an ibanez

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

:p No ideas, man. If you want to go to the otherside of the sound spectrum, try the invader. Don't blame the JB until you've fully set everything up and adjusted everything.

Welcome to the forum.

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

Use the return policy. And if the Invader doesn't work, try a Custom, then a Distortion. If all that fails... well, it's definately not the pickups fault - more likely your guitar or amp.

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

Perhaps don't go to the other extreme if the JB wasn't icepicky.

Instead I'd say those two pickups, the Custom and the Distortion. One of them should work very well. You're looking for rock and punk, so that should fit the bill.

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

Hmm which one over the other... I like the tone that the offspring use but i play a wide array of things

I highly recommened the Duncan Custom Custom for you.

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

Ibanez' seem to be bright guitars. Dimarzios, which seem to be less bright on average, do very well in Ibanez guitars.

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

I had a JB, Distortion, Invader, Custom Custom & DiMarzio Evolution in my RG570. The only one I didn't like was the Evo. The JB sounded awesome in it, as did all the rest, each in it's own way.

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez

TRY Testing the DIMARZII DROPSONIC.
OR, DIMARZIO X2N.
DUNCANS ... DUNCANDISTORTION FOR PURE ****ING ARMAGEDDON
AND... TONE ZONE TO KEEP YOUR NEIGHBORS AWAKE IN THE NIGHT, AHAHAHAH

I have a JB in my rg 550, something is wrong if you are getting a bluesy tone out of it... even with 250k pots it still has a brighter tone to it. what you discribe doesn't sound anything like a JB

Re: I hate the Jb in my Ibanez
