I have a challenge

Are you talking about something you can duplicate? Or just our own personal finds?

I snagged this cool Epiphone "Strat", S210, at the flea-market for about $45. Love it. (Mines black.)

I feel like any guitar at that price point is going to be made by what are effectively slaves in a third world country. I'd just save up a bit more myself.

Best would be a used Squier Affinity. The ones made new at that price point would be pretty shoddy. Affinities are ok. Nothing much wrong with them except they're thinner and have a plastic nut. But everything else is decent or can be swapped.

Agreed, I'd rather spend more to ensure I was buying guitars made by what are effectively slaves in a first world country!

I got my under '$100' $103, guitar came today.
It's an SPUQ / Ktaxon / Glarry,
It's actually quite nice. They even sent me a cheesy little amp. Unfortunately it doesn't say Fender Champ. Lol. It looks like I'll change the tuners, most likely the innards and definitely putting a set of Blackened Black winter, hopefully the rails. It's definitely worth the $ now I just need some matte black nitro paint.
