A friend of mine is importing various lines of pedals, including MI Audio, Rothwell, DAM and Frantone. All of these brands do cool stuff, but my fave line of his is the Catalinbread stuff:

-I spent the last two days doing basic tracks for my rock band, The Defendants. For the session I used my Victoria Double Deluxe and a Matamp Series 2000 (a limited to 60 reissue of their original 1962 design) into a greenback loaded 1x12. I planned to use a few different pedals, but in the end I used just one, the superbly named Catalinbread Super Chili Picoso:
-It's a TRULY transparent boost with a clean/fat switch, which subtly shaped the low end response if you want. Great pedal.
Other killer catalinbread pedals:
The Silver Kiss:
-this is a medium gain overdrive with a three band EQ. I don't normally trust pedals with too much eq, but this eq is so musical that you can really shape a tone back towards where you want it to be. Great for pushing tones into other areas or adjusting your sound for a different guitar. It has a real nice treble response that can be dialed to give just the right amount of cut or pull out too much high end.
The Teaser Stallion:
-This has an overdrive channel similar to the silver kiss, and a frequency oscillator channel that basically turns your signal into a crazy synth. Turn the knob and watch your cat's brain implode. Very fun.
And last, but not least, the Super Charged Overdrive:
-This is a distortion, and my friend says it sounds like Josh Homme in a box. It definitely has that midrange honk that you'd hear on a QOTSA record.
These are very cool pedals. Check 'em out if you can find 'em.
