I have no clue what I agreed to....

hey I just ordered a custom pickup and they asked me something about cables that i have now clue about (considering the money im spending i need to know) . well the problem is i answered without having a clue what i agreed to! Sounds crazy but after explaning what I wanted and everything he flew through some questions and he asked me about four-conductor hookup cable and something else, and i said the yea to the four-conductor cables. Does anyone know what my other option was? and what do both these things mean. Please help - Jason :smack:

I've heard them called wires; I've heard them called leads; I've never heard them called cables.

Short answer: Don't panic. You're fine.

Longer answer: The pickup you get will have more options available to it with regard to how you want to wire it up, but you are in no way required to do anything other than wire it up normally, with the two extra wires soldered to each other and taped off to the side.

Yeah, you picked the right answer. 4 conductor wiring will only give you more options for the pickup. Dont fret (get it? pun... 'cause guitars have frets... ok it was weak)

You can have four conductor leads or braided wire. The four conductors allow you the split the coils and such.
