I know almost everyone on the forum screamed no when I brought it up, so I figured theres some gibson/fender favortisim going on here so I would go and try one out for myself.

The neck is amazing, smooth as glass and plays very fast, flat out amazing.
The action is about the lowest I've seen on a guitar, even at the 24th fret you only have to breath on the string to keep it down.
The pickups and electronics are equally amazing, from some of the richest cleans I've ever heard to full on, balls out biting gritty overdrive.(Perfect for AC/DC.)
And the build quality/finish is perfect.

The sustain on this guitar is amazing, I honestly have no use for a compressor.

And even tho its single coils, its just as quiet as most humbuckers.

I will admit that my hands aren't huge and thats probably why it fits me so well, but I still can't believe you guys didn't like it.

And jangly? What? What the hell are you talking about? Its twangy if anything, far from jangly.

Its a 2006 in maple-glo, came with a rickenbacker form-fitted hard shell case, cleaning kit, cables, picks... Its an amazing guitar. (I took the maple-glo as a loaner till they get a fire-glo in some time this month.)

Don't let anyone tell you these aren't versatile. It's just as versatile as any of the other options out there.

Beats the living hell out of all my other guitars lol.

I know man, its killing me, my card reader is acting up and wont let me get them on my PC and every force in hell wont let me get a picture on here.

Re: I just got a Rickenbacker 330!

Much congrats, as I know how you feel! I bought a Jetglo 330 last September myself and it truely is a very unique guitar.

Wanna turn some heads and watch some jaws drop? Using the neck pickup, plug the 330 into a compressor (just a bit of compression), plug into an amps clean channel, turn in up and play the intro/rhythm part to "Hey Joe" by Hendrix. I've had a few friends go...."you've GOT to be kidding me!!!" They are just amazed by how good it sounds!

Re: I just got a Rickenbacker 330!

Every experience I've had with a Rick has been-
"it's going to do what it wants to do, not what you want it to do."

In the right hands, that can totally kick ass. In my hands- it's barf.

:blackeye:

I'm totally glad it works for you, and I'm totally glad you've found a guitar that "speaks" to you. That's one of the hardest things to EVER find.

IMHO, the whole "jangle thing" comes from the 12 strings with the toaster style pickups. Even the 6 strings with the toaster pickups don't jangle. My 330 has the higher gain single coils which is standard on the 330's. Twang, yes. Jangle, no. And don't let anybody tell you you can't rock out on a 330 either. Using a Tonebone Classic and a Hot British pedal you can get some great rock tones happening. It just takes a bit of tweaking and you've got it.

Re: I just got a Rickenbacker 330!

Don't u like jangle???
With the right amp (AC30) a 360 (a 60's one not the redesigned one) with toaster pickups can go from jangly to all the tones u desribed.

Re: I just got a Rickenbacker 330!

Most of the 'Jangle' of the Rics on those 60s albums comes from Compressing the guitar signal to hell :D

I'm glad you found a guitar that suits you mate!

Re: I just got a Rickenbacker 330!

that does sound awesome. i love the ric sound i just hated the action on all the ones ive ever played. if the action on taht is like you say it is then i would want one too!

Re: I just got a Rickenbacker 330!
