I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Ok, so I was feeling a bit sonically creative today so I thought I'd start hooking stuff up. I've gotten sick of choruses and leslie simulators and I got to thinking...wait, I have a rotating horn, why not just use it...so I did.

So my rig goes as such....

Guitar
|
Ernie Ball VP Jr. Volume -> Boss TU-2 Tuner
|
Teese McCoy RMC1 Wah
Fulltone Fulldrive 2
Carl Martin Plexitone Prototype
Voodoo Lab 4 knob Tremolo
Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor (will leave my rig eventually)
Boss DD-3 Digital Delay --(dry out)--> reverb/vibrato channel of Super Reverb
|
True Bypass box --(loop)--> Motion Sound Pro 3 horn -> dry channel of Super Reverb

It's completely psychotic, and it's got a few grounding issues right now...but it's the most amazing sound I've ever heard in my life. I'll definitely be getting some clips of this one soon!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!! Definitely has potential for killer sounds!! I like the Teles and Strat!

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

yeah, this rig sounds so freakin good....I gotta get rid of the grounding hum though

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Too cool for school! LOL

Then again....I always know that YOU know what you're doing.

It's a bit much to haul, but sometimes there's a price for tone.

Hey, what's the guitar on the far right? Looks cool.

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

The guitar on the far right is a no name copy of a Gretsch TK300 and is the greatest guitar for slide I've ever come across. The action is a bit high, and the humbuckers sound AMAZING for slide. Needs a new switch though

Sweet. :) I know the Z. is the centerpiece but I love that Super!

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Thats a solid rocking rig, love it.I'm digging that prototype. If it doesnt work out for you, give me first dibs.

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Yeah, it's a great rig...now I guess I need to write some music that uses all these sounds so I can justify carrying all this crap around :)

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Apparently you guys just don't understand the coolness of this rig? lol..wait til I get clips :) just gotta get rid of the hum first!

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

I'm thinking it's just a weird grounding issue. I've got both amps, the rotating horn, and my pedalboard all plugged into a little 4 outlet breakout box going to 1 plug...so I'm sure it's something there. If I lift the ground on one of the amps or the pedals, it'd probably go away.

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Nice stuff. Nothin like pluggin a few amps into eachother...

I used to jump the channels on my Bassman into my friend's Marshall JMP. That tone was MASSIVE.

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

Nice!

-multiple amp rigs are so much god**** fun.

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

great rig

I've read some comments that you shouldn't lift a ground, but rather get a box that will accomplish the same thing. I'm sure if you look and ask, you'll find a decently priced unit.

Re: I just put together the most ridiculous amp rig I've ever done

basically you need to lift the ground on everything but one amp and that should get rid of the hum
