I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

Nothing witheld. Balloon payment at the end of each year. :yell:

As much as paying anytime sucks, that's the smart way to do it. None of us other suckers have any guarantee those bastids are gonna give us anything back. When I'm finished with school, and have a better (ie, higher paying) job, the interest-free loan to Uncle Sam is coming to an end :)

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

I'm not spending mine on anything fun, but if I was, I'd get a bridge humbucker for my '51 and a VOX AD50VT, maybe a 2x12 for my Univox head

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

Meh, I'll probably spend ours on the On-Star subscription. Without the two li'l deductions, our tax burden just increased dramatically.

It still ticks me off that we have to claim our state refund as income. How many times can they tax the same $?

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

I just got in my Radial ToneBone adjustable buffers and I've got an Xotic BB preamp on the way, so the only things left to get are:
a) better cables (re-cabling with Lava ELC) and
b) a Pumaboard - once I get everything figured out (one thing I will need to figure out is the best way to incorporate the electronics that can be installed on the board for a slick look (that means I need to go searching for IEC cables and the like).

nuthin' ... i'm good .. if we get a refund, it'll be used to pay down the home equity loan we used to buy our cars in late 05 and early 06 ... i try not to have refunds - i do not feel the need to give the Bush administration an interest free loan ...

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

I normally get around a Grand back.... I mostly just put it towards my retirement funds, or some other tax shelter... I have 25 years to retire! Maybe a VOX amp this year instead....

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

Well, I'll be adding to my tax returns...

See, I've been saving money now for the past year and a half, to save and completely redo my rig from scratch. This combined with my incoming tax return, should just about pay for it all...WOO HOO! Absolutely no later than this summer.

Tell me if you like....

...and a new pedal board with all new pedals...(well, kind new...some vintage)

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

Ha, what refund.....I'm selfemployed, I never get money back. But I do have a Les Paul fund that's growing nicely.

that should get you some sweet stoner rock sounds!!!

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

My refund is going to pay off a smog repair bill ($530), a year of car insurance ($300), and a transmission repair for my beater Camry (estimate pending).

Seriously though, I really like my gear setup now, and have no intention (need) for anymore gear. It may seem like a small amount to some, but I have spent about $2500 in the last 18 months. Looking for gear is an awful addiction. I had the itch for reworking my tone...and it has been scratched. SWEET RELIEF!!!!

Life is good, and my post is not intended as a bitchfest. I can't wait for the green grass in spring to be shooting up between my toes...beer in hand!

Well, I definately could if I so desired :6:

But, my overall goal is to get something that's versitile enough to do just about any style of playing, as I like to play all kinds of music.

After research, I found that the Hiwatt would give me the volume I wanted, all the while retaining its clear clean tone. That's where the pedal search comes in, as I'll drive mostly from the pedal board.

That matched with an LP withJP wiring (all the great tonal options) would give me the versilility I want.

Re: I know you guys have stuff picked out!!!?

well...i didn't come out like i'd hope...now i gotta score a pedal train really cheap and get just one of the pedals i had picked out...hmmm!?

which one...the budda wah or the retro-sonic phaser? (fuzz is out due to my CM handling od just fine for now)

i'm leaning towards the retro-sonic phaser since i'm playing mostly rhythm stuff right now...although i'm the only guitar player more and more often lately?!
