I like acoustic strings on my electric more than electric!

I only had a set of light takamine acoustic strings and I was too excited to wait and I threw those onto my Aria Pro II and didn't really think anything of it until I changed the strings to a similar gauged electric set and all the sparkle and resonance seemed to be gone. I guess the brass saddles plus the bronze strings just do it for me! Anyone else prefer acoustic strings?

I once tried hybrids on a Strat (Vinci dual-wound, hex steel core with a nickel winding and a phosphor bronze winding, .011-.049, as a compromise for acoustic guitars with both piezo and magnetic pickups) but did not like the result. Being used to the bright and snappy tone of Elixirs, the Vinci's were a bit of a turn-off. Sounded dull, and lacked quite a bit of output. That typical Strat-tone so many players love was nowhere to be found with the Vinci's on the guitar.

Since brass or bronze is non-magnetic your pickup will pickup the strings vibrations better with steel strings. You might like the tone better, and that's fine, but steel is actually better with a magnetic pickup than bronze. Lew
