I love huge pedalboards but....

How do you even get this thing to a gig?

I love the pedals, and coming from the Friedman group the work is impeccable but holy crap this thing needs its own semi trailer!

Guitarist is Aaron of the band Intervals.

Great Googily-Moogily! Imagine if some disgruntled roadie were to go on a unplug spree.

Re: I love huge pedalboards but....

Wowsers. There's, what, 2 to 3K worth of pedals there? This reminds me of Vernon Reid's amp setup someone posted about a while back.

For that kind of dough, I would just get an extremely nice amp... but obviously the dude isn't going for pure guitar-into-amp tone.

With all that going on, I'm wondering if that guitarist would be better served by a Kemper or Axe-Fx or the like. I just can't envision a scenario where one would actually need to use every pedal in a show. And the number of things that could go wrong... does he tour with a backup of that board???

Re: I love huge pedalboards but....

At a certain point it seems more efficient to rack everything.... and I think this guy is beyond that point.

Re: I love huge pedalboards but....

I have seen rig rundowns were pedals were stored in a rack drawer/closet thing & the switching is done by someone off stage . This pedal board definitely qualifies for that. Look at the amount of cabling laid out in there, having that laid down on stage at a gig raises chances of an accident mid song or in between songs.

I would have gone Fractal with some other rack units if I had the kinda $ invested in auch a board for live work.

I like big boards and I cannot lie
You other players can't deny
When someone throws down
With a circus on the ground
You get stoked

That does look like a tradeshow board more than anything else, though.
Not gonna lie, it's giving my orgaanise-sort-and-clean fetish a run for its money :D

Re: I love huge pedalboards but....

At that point you're far better off rack mounting the pedals and midi controlling them, if you actually want to move it around and fit it on a stage that isn't inside an arena or stadium you're headlining lol.

Re: I love huge pedalboards but....

Yeah, I bet the guy who put that together either shows it at trade shows or doesn't gig, and it sits in his basement music room. Gigging musicians are a lot more practical.

It was put together by Nice Rack Canada for the guitarist of the (touring) band Intervals.

I do agree that the rack solution would probably have been better since it's all MIDI controlled at this point.

Re: I love huge pedalboards but....

better to rack those pedals and leave only the midi controller on the floor (unless he also uses volume and wah pedal).
too many thing can go wrong with that huge pedalboard on stage.
