Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

I think it needs chrome hardware, tunomatic bridge, and string through body.:) It's nice. Must look amazing on stage.

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

Sweet guitar. I confess I have a weak spot for those bird inlays. Everytime I see them it makes me weak in the knees :D

Like the color too.

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

i think the one you pictured is nicer though, its more classic looking

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

Man, if that thing was any more glossy it would slip into the next dimension! Very nice :32:

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

PRS don't put gallons of gallons of clear coat on their axes, the coating is rather thin.
I had a damage on one of my PRS and while trying to rework the clear coat I noticed a really strange reaction to paper sanding and polishing.
I wonder if they don't use 2 different layers (varnish) for their coating.
I seemed to me when I worked on my axe that there's a first coat , very thin and made of a hard varnish and a second on the top (also thin) with a softer varnish.

It can explain how you can get a high gloss level with a thin coating. The hard coating gives the high gloss, easy to polish and very shiny but as it's hard , it's sensitive to scratches and dents.
The top layer is made of a softer varnish, less glossy but also less sensitive to scratches.

Now that's my opinion based on my knowledge on paint work, I'd like to have the story told by PRS but I think it's a "proteced state of the art" !

PRS has one of the most beautiful finish level of the guitar manufacturers

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

I love that "iced tea" finish; looks incredible, even tho it's not my speed as far as guitar finished go ...

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

My 2000 McCarty in dark vintage sunburst looks almost like it.
That's a Custom 22 w/birds huh?

If anyone thinks the shiny-ness harms the tone, it doesn't. I don't play this guitar nearly as much as my others, but it's almost ashame because it plays and sounds almost better than the rest.

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

Beautiful flame top and a nice looking finish. I love the color/grain combo.

Re: I LOVE it!!(PIC)

The bird inlays are KEY! I think that may be one of the biggest reasons I want a PRS.
