I love my Tubescreamer but I should try a.... ?

I primarily use my Tubescreamer to boost already overdriven amps to get some more gain, touch, response and singing sustain. My settings usually end up: level - max, gain - minimum to 40%, tone usually neutral.

Ive tried some other overdrive and clean boost pedals. I've had my eye on a Cusak Screamer. What else is out there I should be looking at?

I just picked up a Greer Ghetto Stomp, and love it.


Fulltone OCD would be another option...

i guess its not the latest thing, but the fulldrive is killer and guaranteed to work with any guitar/amp combination due to the clipping and mosfet options.

You know i finally got to spend some time with an 805 and I dont like it as well as my other TS's The treble knob works funny its like its at a different frequency or something. Maybe im just used to dialing in the sweet spot on my TS's tone control this one just seems "off"

If someone doesnt have a TS i think its a great option, for someone looking for a the ultimate boutique 808 tone i think it misses the mark a touch. Its still a nice pedal.


For a different overdrive why not a Timmy?

I love my pro tone deadhorse but there's a few other od's/boosts out there that I would still like to snag....I really like the SHO's and Soulfoods, the Moog Overdrive is pretty sweet too, it's a different flavor than the TS styles....

Check out the Way Huge Green Rhino. The Timmy is also an excellent suggestion.

I was in the same boat with my TS-9. Lately the fact that it sucks some bass and thins the tone out a bit was bugging me, especially with my Dual Rec. So I picked up a Maxon OD 808 and love it so far. It tightens and gives it some juice while not taking any low end away. Really good pedal.

Voodoo's Sparkle Mod is a great pedal, can cope with lots and lots of TS tones. Here is a vid I did a while back:

I've chased this for so long, always end back up with my TS-808. Have a couple others but not in the TS family...

Have you tried a Rat? Those are awesome!

I would also recommend a Suhr Shiba as well...
