I just thought I'd share my love for the Bassman tone with you guys. It's on my GNX3 so, I'd imagine a REAL Bassman probably sounds like heaven. I like it on clean and with gain. Smoooooth. That's all! :)

Re: I love the sound of Bassman!

I've played bassman few times and i must say that every time have been impressed...
Sounds cool with good strat:D

Re: I love the sound of Bassman!

Nothing like a single coil pup through that 4x10 Bassman. Too cool.

Re: I love the sound of Bassman!

YOu know, you can have a lot of guitars and you can sort of hide them under beds, in closets, etc.,. But with amps, they're just there. Big and hard to hide.

I've concluded that GAS for guitars is easier on a marraige than GAS for amps.

You can now all go back to your regular lives.

If you have a chance to try a BF Bassman head, do it. You'll thank me later.

I love the single-coil spank it can provide and the FAT humbucker tones. Absolutely delicious! I hear it works well with OD pedals as well?

A TS9 is prolly the most commonly mated pedal with that amp. SRV used the TS9 and bassman for his sound. I believe that is also much of Stone Gossard's sound from Pearl Jam. Clapton used a bassman when I saw him two nights ago, but I dunno what he was running for distortion with it. I imagine a TS9.

Re: I love the sound of Bassman!

Is there much of a difference between the Bassman and a Hotrod Deville?

I currently play through a Deville 212 and it's everything that you guys have said about the Bassman.I couldn't be happier,it just oozes tone :)

Re: I love the sound of Bassman!

Bassman is a COMPLETELY different beast than a HR Deville. It's a much more immediate sound from the Bassman. BTW, I play bass thru my BF Bassman for recording, it's a great deep vintage style tone. Excellent w/ a jazz bass.

Re: I love the sound of Bassman!

I looove my Bassman, it's everything I want an amp to be.

'Cept it has no umm, what'cha call it? Oh yeah, MID knob.
