I got an old no name 4x12 cab years ago that "did not work" for a great price (it would be a great price even if the cab was empty!), I took it home only to find a matched set of 4 Fanes, with the original cones which are in killer shape from a HiWatt dated 1972...I also found a broke wire, which after fixed I found that ALL 4 speakers were good!!! The cab had been in storage until a few hours ago...I really had forgotten how killer this cab sounds! This is even more of a kick in the ass to get a new amp! I really do need a head to use with this thing!!!

I just wanted to be excited, and I wanted my brothers to share my excitement!!!

Congrats! I'm in the NEW STUFF ROCKS :headbang: state of mind today too. New stuff most definitly rocks.

Nice touch buddy! Yes the Fane speakers are great...I think that's what came in alot of Hiwatt cabs right? They're british speakers and sometimes called "Fang" speakers...I'm happy for ya...They probably got better with age..

Haha, great. I buy my friends pedals that are "broken", fix em, then sell em on ebay. Broken stuff rules.

Yeah! These actually say HiWatt loudspeaker by Fane acoustics! They are the old CAST FRAME with the purple sticker on the magnet...Just like the ones Pete used!!! They really do sound killer, they are from a 1972 HiWatt cab, and Im sure they sound better now that they did in 72!

how did i know you were gonna say that hahha......you probably wouldnt have to send them to me......you could just stand out in the street, point it north and ill go stand out in mine......ill be able to hear nice and clear :laugh2:

Ah, cheap no-name cabs!

I scored a ported 2x12 at Music Go Round a few years ago for $120. After I opened it up, it had a couple of Celestion Classic Lead 80's in it. It's my favorite cab!
