Many people use modelers with tube amps. However, I got into modeling so I don't have to carry any more amps to gigs and get a more consistent sound out front (and save my ears from volume on stage). I see no reason you can't further alter a modeler's emulated sound with a tube amp, but at that point, there are too many variables for me.
