I'm playing through a Behringer V-Amp2 (Soldano SLO100 & Marshall JCM800 settings) and a Digitech RP100 (Marshall JCM900 setting) into a practice amp.

Honestly wfd, I think you should pop some emgs in there. An 85 in the bridge and a 60 or 81 in case you wanna swap wouldn't be "scooped" and would be tight, articulate, and sound great. They're pretty much the industry standard for this style of music and they are for good reason! I'd bet most your favorite bands use em so why are you so dead set against em? Have one guitar for silky smoothness, and one for full distortion and then your search will finally be over! Andy Sneap would agree with me

And aren't you getting a 5150? Man, 5150 with emgs is THE death metal sound. You'll never look back.

Are you off the DiMarzio kick already?

Well...not so much 'off the kick' as I am just not raving about them. I still love the Evolution neck, probably one of the best neck bucker's I've ever heard. I just don't have the cash right now to try a ton of DiMarzio's out.

Although, when I get enough cash for another bucker (and with trading), I'm going to try out the following:

Custom
Custom/JB Hybrid
Custom/DD Hybrid
X2N
Bill Lawrence 500XL
Full Shred neck
DD neck, and then change the magnet to an A5, making it a JB neck .

And yeah, the DD/Jazz kicks ass. I love the DD, expecially in mohogany. Jazz is verstile as hell, although I wouldn't mind it a little brighter/hotter.

Did you get a chance to try them out yet? My PAF Pro is F-spaced in the neck,according to DMZ instructions, but it's not dead on the strings. Still, I find no problems, and it sounds simply great! So don't worry if that happens with your bridge PAF Pro! I have to say that I'll be quite surprised if you don't like your PAF Pro in the neck. I don't know what the difference is if it's a bridge model, probably just a bit more output, which should be even more nice to you.

Stop wasting your time and put a Distortion in the bridge slot and 59 in the neck and you'll have much more time to play than swapping pickups and ranting :rant: about them :drive:

I thaught the same about the jazz and i found that the Demon in the neck is the answer ( but not in a dark guitar)
