I`m going back to the JB

I had taken the JB out of the bridge in my Strat thinking the 59 would do the trick for classic up to hard rock , I also tried the Custom. I`ll be putting the JB back in , IMO it was actually the warmer sounding pickup which surprised me since I heard it was so harsh and trebley. My bedroom rig is pretty bassy so I had no trouble with lacking bass in the JB . Damn , this will be the 4th pickup swap in my Strat !

The 59 has more highs than the JB...more genuine high end and upper harmonics. But the JB has a peak in the midrange that some describe as being bright...and the JB has fatter, thicker mids in general than the 59. I prefer the 59 myself...reminds me of Clapton's Wheels of Fire and Bluesbreaker tones. Lew

That's why they're interchangeable.... it's a beautiful thing to have choices. Your tastes change, and every amp colors your sound differently also. My Line6 is boomy, so the JB sounds great. I wonder what will happen when my Marshall ever gets here? Will it be all new pups all around?
