I made a backing track for y'all

Re: I made a backing track for y'all

Jeff, that was kick ass. But I call unfair advantage with the porch! :laugh2:

Erik, the Brobucker sounds killer.

Thanks, myxolidian. It's amazing how good it sounds through my Marshall Lead 12. Those little amps are killer.

Jeff, I knew you had it. Can't hide it behind all those Destroyers forever ya know. :)

Re: I made a backing track for y'all

Totally sweet Jeff, totally sweet! Superb intro, I really dug it!

Any have anyone noticed the views on this post! 676 Views! Not often that Forum Jams goes up to that here :D Rock on guys!

Re: I made a backing track for y'all

Mhmm I made a track on this and started a soundclip account but I don't know how to upload it there... :( help please?

Re: I made a backing track for y'all

Ok it's not the first track I did, this is another take. It's... different. Not as good. Some mistakes, but not as many as the first time. This is actually 100% improv, whereas for the first take I had used some licks I knew already, but I didn't save it <_<

www.soundclick.com/frenchpott I don't know if the song is there yet since the page hasn't cleared...

EDIT: ok that's the final version I like :P I'll keep this one in. Still far from perfect. But way better than the others. Still improvisation.

Is it that bad that it doesn't even deserve constructive criticism? :laugh2:

Re: I made a backing track for y'all

I didn't save the Audacity project... so I'll try another improv tomorrow, I remember some of the licks that worked and some that didn't. Thanks guys! First ever try at recording like this :D

Re: I made a backing track for y'all

Two new tracks added today, with a more cutting tone I should hope. Maybe a wee bit too much...
I don't know if I can do mixing after it's recorded. I tried and it seems to have worked though, so we'll see.
I was stuck with the A pentatonic scale and a few odball notes by the way. If you guys could tell me any other scales that'd work well with this song I'd be grateful... I was very limited, and since most of it is improv (though I now seem to remember some of the licks I previously used obviously) I make a lot of mistakes. That and I haven't listened to any of what you guys did (sorry... I will later though, promise!) so I really could criticize myself too. I'll do one everyday if I remember, and see how I progress. That should make me discover the scales and right notes. I had actually never really played blues ever before, apart from learning the pentatonic.

Loads of excuses I know :laugh2: Just trying to not make me seem so small compared to you guys :fingersx:

I did man! Thanks to you in part, you gave me the idea of the ONE thing I hadn't tried :smack:

HOLYCOW JEFF!! I just listened to your track (Jeff Seal)... It's depressing. Can any of the great players play a real bad take so I can feel better? :laugh2:

Be gentle, my first time! (kinda sloppy....but whatever)

Jeff Seal
If that's sloppy, then what do you call the way
mr. Jimmy Paige plays ? ;)

Great intro and I'm seriously digging that distortion
tone too.
Here's my seal of approval:
