I may be becoming a Strat Guy

I know I’ll be the odd man out for this, but I never liked Strats. I used to have a pretty nice Mexican one years ago but I gave it to a friend as a gift. They just don’t feel right to me. Also, I don’t like guitars with 3 pickups.

I played pretty much nothing but Les Pauls for years and years. Now, just about all I play are Charvels.

Played a show last night. Nothing but Dean Cadillacs. Not ready for Steve Dallas to endorse Fender....

I like the playability of my MIM Fender Strat but I think I don't like alder bodies or the Obsidian wiring I installed. I will rewire my Strat the day that Seymour Duncan makes a single-coil version of the STK-S7.

I have an LTD ST213 Strat copy with ash body, STK-S4n/STK-S7b (no middle and 3-way switch à la Tele) pickups, Gotoh bridge, Grover tuners, and now we are talking!!!

I think the SSL-1 is pretty close to the STK-S7.

no. the ssl1 is close to the stk-s4. the stk-s7 is a bit hotter with a less sharp high end, more mids and bass than the stk-s4b. its a fantastic pup and, i feel, covers a gap in the duncan line between the ssl1 and ssl5.

I like Strats except for the most common neck profiles they use.

I mean, the necks are mostly alright. Most modern ones are thin C's. Cool. But the fretboard radius. I wish they were a bit flatter.

I started with strats but always modded for superstrat tones. Then I got into shredders. Then my last and only strat got SSS, a clapton circuit, and a Freeway tele switch (look it up, great switch and pattern).

I put my own together in '09

Now, I am intov
