should i go for it?

the guy bought this mark IV head a couple months ago with an intention to get metallica type tone, and now he's wanting to sell it to get a mesa boogie dueal rectifier. it's a pretty rare head, in a snake skin type finish. he said he'll sell it for $950, but he said to make a deal on it. i might try(try) to see if i can get it down to a high 700 or low 800. if i can get this, i'll sell my marshall for the money and maybe some help from my dad. but then i'd need ot get a cab, which i'll probably try to get some cheap ass cab i can get until i can afford a mesa cab or a marshall cab.

should i go for it?
im desperately hoping i can get it down to about $750, this way i can sell the marshall for about that price and then have some financial help from my parents for a cheap cab.
what should i do?

an avt 150 combo

considering the price for that amp was somehting like 800 or something, im thinking i might be able to get about 600 or (possibly, maybe, help!!!) 700 for it. if i can get that much, i'd be extremely happy!!!

im thinking since the retail price for a new avt150 is $850, i might be able to sell it for a little less than that. since it's in really good condition and sounds great!

you wont get 600 for an AVT. I for one wouldn't pay 300 for one. I bet you could get around 450 though.

well something close is what im hoping for

hopefully(oh please God), i can get about 600 or womething for it and then negotiate a price for the mark at about 700 osmething.

A good friend of mine has a Mark 4 combo and it sounds incredible. The tonal options are limitless! Get it- you'll love it! By the way, I've seen Phil Keaggy live twice and he is equally incredible.

well all i need to do is convince my dad that i really, really, really, really, really want this amp. and since i'd be selling my own amp for a majority of the money i really hope they'd be willing to help me out.

he'll only go as low as 900 and i just dont got that money. plus the money for the cab, and stuff.

i thnk i'll just wait and buy it new

Dont let it pass you by, I had the chance to get a single recto for 600usd this one time, and i passed it up cause I didnt have the cash (i culda pushed real hard to get it tho, i know i culda).

Sell as many crap as you have.
All your guitars bar 1 or 2.
Sell all ur effects. You wont need em.
Sell ur liver.
Work, wash cars, teach guitar, do whatever u can...

I would and I am! I'm selling one of my favorite guitars, likely tomorrow (a friend of mine already made a deal with me) to get this amp. I was GAS-ing on a Rivera Knucklehead, but if I could get this amp it'd be a dream come true :32:
