I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

But $1000!!!! No way dudes! i would love to hear this guy, but it looks like it's a couple of years away from my gear list. Plus I just hate the idea of an onboard OD, FX loop, and compressor. I wish they would have created a reissue like the Twin or DR! Oh well!

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

Sheesh, for that price you could buy a used Fender Pro Reverb and a Vox modeler, sitting next to each other.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

Man, you can get a vintage blackface princeton reverb for that much...

And you should :laugh2:

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

I agree with both of you. Honestly I said to myself before researching the price on these that the MOST they would cost is $799, but would probably go right at the $600 mark. I nearly crapped when I saw the $999 price!!!

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

Equally ridiculous is the new Woody Pro Junior. $839 street price for cosmetic changes to a Pro Junior. For that you could get 2 '65 Black Face Champs that in the end will be worth more than a Woody PJ.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

You can get an original, almost mint condition Fender silverface amp for almost half of that! The compressor is probably really garbage, the built in overdrive is probably way too harsh, but the attenuator is interesting. I'm just waiting for a company to come out that does what Victoria does with Tweeds, but for Blackfaces. To recreate the whole line of the Blackface amps to very close specs so they sound good. Fender has a Vibroverb Custom Reissue which is really good too though. The Vibro King is pretty good, but it didn't amaze me.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

I believe Allen Amplification does black face Fenders better than Fender does these days.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

No way would I pay that much for that amp...You can pick up a nice BF Princeton Reverb for around $1200 and have a killer amp, those things are Princeton in name only IMO...built in FX, SS Rec, PCB...not in my Fender amp!

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

Occasionally I have to give Fender the "Atta Boy!" when they come through.

.....this is not one of those times.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

Fender amps are getting a bit pricey these days. I really like the new Supersonic, but for almost half the price I can get a Traynor YCV-50BLUE. The Supersonic is great, but def. not twice the amp the Traynor is.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

This amp is really geared for the home recordist who's not happy with the limited features of small tube amps and want's something more 'tubey' than modelers.
They'll probably sell a few, but not till the price drops to $600-$700.

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

looks like a cool little amp... but the price is out there....

Re: I might have considered this amp for $500-$600

I laughed at the "custom red" Peavey Classic 30 that was advertised in Sweetwater's catalog. I think it was something like $900, I wouldn't pay more than $350 myself :smack:
