I need a footswitch that has a 6 pin plug

I am looking for a 4 button footswitch that uses a 6 pin plug to connect to my amp. Does anyone know of a company that makes any?

It's not for a TSL-100, is it?

Re: I need a footswitch that has a 6 pin plug

It's for an older vht combo. I just looked it up I need one with a 6 pin xlr male plug. Most amps I have had used 1/4 connectors. So this is new territory for new.

Look at switch amp doctor and black label switches (or somethin similar, I coild be a bit off withe name).

To tell hou the truth, it came simpler for me to build one for my rectoverb than to try to find one that fit my series1 rov which nobody but mesa builds at the moment...

Re: I need a footswitch that has a 6 pin plug

I have thought about just building one. But my soldering skills have went down hill. I actually have the footswitch here but it is almost completely dead. The only switch that still half way works is the reverb. So I will have to wire up 4 stomp switches plus a 3 way switch and 4 leds. The boost switch has a cap running from one of the lugs to one side of the led. I havent seen that before.

If you have thenoriginal one on hand the job is even simpler. Assuming the connexions are all good, you could just change the switches or use it all as a template to rebuild the guts.... I could help if you'd like...

ROFLCOPTER.

That sounds a lot like the problem I had with the 4-button footswitch that came with my TSL-100. I'd see intermittent failure of a individual switch function, with increasingly frequent issues until that switch was just dead. Turns out the grommet where the wire passes into the chassis of the footswitch was too tight, and eventually it wore away one conductor at a time until several functions no longer worked.

The fix was to desolder the wire ends on the circuit board, cut off the bad part, and strip back fresh wire and solder the new, clean ends back on the board. A new, looser grommet was also in order.

I know that's not even the footswitch you have, but I'm posting it just in case. If I'd known this in advance, it would have saved me a nice chunk each of time and money.

Re: I need a footswitch that has a 6 pin plug

If you have the original one and are still stuck, PM me and I will see if I can help you, or you can send it to me and I'll take a look at it for you and only charge for parts that need to be replaced.

Other than that, yes, check out switchdoctor.

copycat... ;)

Don't worry, it's nothing against you and I'm sure man in moon gets it :)

Re: I need a footswitch that has a 6 pin plug

Sorry no offense intended : popworm: I did see your comment about helping out, just thought I'd throw it out there that I would gladly fix it. Definitely a better problem to have around here than no help at all

Re: I need a footswitch that has a 6 pin plug

I took no offense at all... It's only that I pm'd mim a few days ago with the exact same offer of fixing it for the cost of parts... Now you're as nice, cool and awesome as I am, just a bit tardier :D
