I need a neck SC sized HB pickup for heavy hard rockin' leads.

Hey guys, which of the neck versions of the SC sized Buckers would fit my needs best? I want something that has edge and brightness, but also not too muich hbrightness... I want some definition and punch. And it should sound mean like hell. Output is not *that much* important, as I have enough gain on my drive channels. Btw, I play mostly Hard & Stoner Rock. What about the Hot Rails? I had one in the bridge but it looks like the neck one differs quite much from the bridge version though. Or how about a lil '59?

thanks

The JB jr is great in the neck position. It sounds like it would fit the bill.

The neck Hot Rails is not bright by any means. It is warm and aggressive. If you don't eq it just right, it can be very boomy. I don't think that would be your best bet. The Cool Rails is a little brighter than the Hot Rails, but still retains that vintage PAF type tone warm tone. The good thing about it is, with the right amp, it can do just about anything. The Vintage Rails is the brightest of the Rails pickups. But output is very low. Plus with its vintage Strat type tone, I don't think that's what you're looking for either.

As far as the L'il humbuckers, the only one I have any experience with is the 59. It isn't too different from the Cool Rails. If you want something a little brighter and more aggressive, maybe jeck out the JB jr. But since I haven't used it, I can't really comment.

What guitar will this be going into?

My Strat... and it'll have a Texas Hot in the mid and a full sized '59 in the bridge as friends.

Is the JB Jr more agressive sounding than the lil '59?
