I need a pedal on/off switch

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
[NOW WITH MORE PICS] And not the standard metal button. I'm looking for an on/off latching switch to go on an old Washburn Accelerator series pedal.

Specifically, one of these:

Here is the switch details:

I do not want a "true bypass" or a round metal version. Trying to maintain the aesthetic. All help appreciated.

Maybe something from a non-operational BOSS would work.....I'm assuming you're looking for the actual electrical part, not the top bit you step on here.

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

Our other guitar player has a bunch of stuff I'lll ask him. He needs the pivot part for a Jimi Hendrix wha if you now of any.

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

If you can get a look at the switch, it should be easy to find an appropriate substitute. I have a knack for finding such things.

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

The switch itself is probably the same part as a Boss switch, but I'd need to see it to be certain

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

Well the bad news is it's not a Boss switch. I've never seen that particular one before, and I thought I'd seen pretty much every pedal switch there is.

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

That looks like a simple momentary switch, but you're sure it's latching? Heck, radioshack probably has one that will work. Cheaper than shipping. Something like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049717?

:notworthy: I bow to your awesomeness oh great and knowledgeable one.

Step down to turn on, step down to turn off again - yep. Right now you have to hold the pedal down for "on"

it is very convenient to find a proper substitute if you are looking at the switch

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

I don't know if anyone does this on effects, but it is possible to use a momentary switch and have the circuit do the latching.

This requires quite a bit of electronic fiddly bits. If you ever look at a Boss flip-flop circuit, it would be annoying to add, to say the least.

There is A LOT of stuff I do not know.
What is the advantage of this.?
Thanks

What I meant was that the Washburn pedal Ace has may already have that from the factory. Not suggesting he do that to replace a bad switch. :)

A momentary switch can be cheaper than a latching one, so for a manufacturer, it may be cheaper to do the latching electronically.

Re: I need a pedal on/off switch

Ok - I may be using latching incorrectly.

The pedal SHOULD work by:

Step on the footpad - the thingy depresses and the pedal turns on. Step again and it turns off.

On/Off is how it works. Right now, if you hold the switch down, the effect will stay "on" and that is not right.

OK. Does the switch click when you push it? If not, its likely a momentary thing.
