Hiya,

heres the thing. Basically, i want to wire a duncan p rail as a neck pickup, with a prs treble pickup in the bridge. The p rails has the 4 split conducter wires and the prs has the braided wire with 2 conductor cables. I want the p rails to be tapable of course, for the single, the rail, and both combined, and if possible, be able to tap the prs bucker as well?

anyone have any idea how to do this?
and diagrams would be very helpful, because im not too amazing at wiring

Thank you so much

Dei~

It's my understanding that a 2-conductor pickup must be operated on to manually insert a tap/split in the coil.

it's not "tap", but "coil split/cut". tap is something totally different;)

do you want the humbucking mode of the p-rails to be in parallel or series? how many switches will you be able to have? imo the best thing to do is wire up the p-rails for a on/off/on switch and replace the braided conductor on the prs pickup with 4 conductor and hook it up to a push pull pot.; you can get 2 feet of the stuff from http://www.wymoreguitars.com for $1.50+shipping.

tap/split/cut - either way requires pickup surgery (separating the start and finish of each coil to their individual ends to make it 4-conductor).

ok,
so say i wanted to have the p rails wired with a mini 3 way switch so i could have just the rail, just the single and then the two working together, in the neck

and the PRS in the bridge with no alterations

how would i go about doing this?

thank you so much ~
