I got an old BOSS Japan pedal that needs repair. I sent it out and one guy couldn't do it. Anyone know an expert in this department? Thank you.

Have you had a look inside yourself?
Id be prepared to bet that it is just one of the wires that has come loose.
Failing that....i kinda collect old japanese boss pedals. Whats the pedal, and maybe you want to sell it, broken and all?

I tried that. Indeed i found a few places where some self-improvement books helped to some degree, but it still didn't get my pedal working.

Contact Monte Allums. He probably doesn't have time to actually work on it but one of his installers will fix it for you.
They do good work.

If you haven't found anyone yet, I have a couple of good referrals for you. Junior at TrueTone Music in Santa Monica, CA is an expert pedal repairman - I had an issue with my vintage Boss Dimension C DC-2 and he fixed it for me. Also, Roy at Valley Sound in North Hollywood is very good, he's done some amp repairs and a mod on one of my Earthquaker Devices pedals - and did a great job. You can get their contact info by Googling. Good Luck!
