I need help refreshing my memory: description of old SD humbucker

Guys,

I remember SD used to make a signature pickup, I believe through the customshop, many years ago. It had a coil with a bar, and the other was, if I recall correctly, magnetic polepieces? it was a weird combination of 2 styles of coils. Not the fuglybucker, I remember that one all too well, but it was something like it.

Nokie Edwards. Got it. Sjeesj that was a long search. took me half a day.

There's actually two versions of the Nokie Edwards set. The other version is all blades (I believe A2 mags, like a Silverbird), the bridge is like 20k and the neck is like 10k. That I believe is the earlier? version with like a StagMag slug coil and blade coil. Don't know the specs on that version - I asked here and only the Custom Shop / MJ knows the recipe.

I remember, but this is the one I was kinda thinking about.

@Mincer: they say it's tele and strat in 1. No idea if that's true. This pickup is approx 10K if my memory isn't failing me. I like the look, but have no guitars to stick it in.

For additional reference, the dual blade version he used in his custom telecaster. (Posting the same song so it's easier to pickup what's different in the sound - which is not much.)

Dual blade neck pickup (though hard to tell, lots of room sound, on a phone)

Seems like Nokie tended to use his pickups mostly in humbucking mode, they sound warmer and kind of Chet Atkins style. Only on the old Ventures numbers does he seem to thin them out.

Here's the StagMag / blade version thinned out (but I don't know which coils he's using)

And normal

Studio recordings are better, but can't know which guitar or setup he was using. Google for yourself and see if you can find a better recording.

He talks about the guitar and switching here (though it's as you would expect, a kind of ash Telecaster/Mosrite hybrid with 3-way triple shot for each pickup)

Well, it sounds nice and clear...but I'd love to know what others think that have experience with other pickups.
