I need help with a good vocal amp

So I am a rhythm guitarist, and a vocalist, but I have no idea what would be a good vocal amp, and what vocal amps need. Unfortunately I can't find these tips on YouTube or other places. I sing, and scream and growl, not cookie monster, but think more like Maynard James Keenan, early Hetfield. What would be a good amp and cab for me to use? I don't mean for both guitar and singing, I am only speaking for the vocals. I know enough about guitar amps

It depends on that your budget is. However, you can get some all-in-one powered speakers with a lot of wattage for cheap these days.

Re: I need help with a good vocal amp

Is a PA-type of powered speaker generally what you want for this?

Re: I need help with a good vocal amp

Powered speaker, maybe a mixer.

Most acoustic amps have mic inputs. Fishman Loudbox or Fishman Soloamp or similar?

Also a Fender Twin Reverb

Re: I need help with a good vocal amp

Acoustic amp would be a nice choice. Double duty so to speak. Small enough to do a coffee shop acoustic gig with. Or a hotel lobby type thing.

Re: I need help with a good vocal amp

What are you using this for?

Vocals = PA system - not amplifier. These days, no excuse NOT to get a powered speaker. Mic => Cable => Input => Sound!

If you are doing solo acoustic, a small acoustic amp usually has both mic and guitar inputs. I love these things. Crate CA30 = instant performance + some fx. Awesome for practicing at home even for just vocals. Plug & go.

Or, if solo gigs, you'll want a little mixer (4 channel) so you can have vocal mic, guitar, and maybe backing tracks with a powered speaker or maybe 2...

For a band rehearsal - If the drummer has any thunder-factor about him, you'll maybe want more than just one speaker. Now we are talking small mixer and maybe a couple of powered monitors. You'll really want the whole band to hear you. A single cab likely won't do that. You might want a whole PA with mains & monitors. Or at least two or three monitors - left , right, center.

And I can't recommend a TC Helicon Mic Mechanic enough. A little verb or echo really does a lot. Plus a touch of EQ/Compression and pitch correct, if you want. Really sets the vocals off.

Peavey now offers autotune on their mixers

One of these and a pair of powered speakers

I'm not sure how well you sing but always accept help when you can get it

Re: I need help with a good vocal amp

+1 on the Mic Mechanic.
Before getting mine I used a digital delay
guitar pedal, which actually
worked out very well.

Re: I need help with a good vocal amp

Yeah, your going to need a PA of some sort. 2 Big questions:

-How many band members will you be going up against?

-What's your budget?
