I need something evil for neck position

Hi guys!

I need something good for death metal. Bright, gainy sound. I have TB-6 in bridge (yeah, oldschool dudes!) and I don't know which pickup should I put in neck position. I was thinking about SH-2(n) and SH-6(n) OR SH-4. I like traditional ways.

Scooped mids, D standard. I like sound of late 80s/Early 90s

What does the guy from One Direction use in his SG?

What? Don't look at me like that - they DID say evil :outahere:

For that time with scooped mids, tuned down, maybe a '59?

J. from White Zombie and Dimebag both ran them for a while.

Not necessarily a distortion pickup but can work for the tone and time period.

I have a 59B in the neck of an ESP MII. It's not coming out. Ever! I like it more than the Screamin Demon!

Re: I need something evil for neck position

he wants old school tone, so let's keep modern metal and prog pickups out, you sir might want a Pearly Gates Bridge with a ceramic magnet on your neck slot, bright, gainy, grinding and a slight fizz on the very top end

seems like the whole "something evil" and " something good for death metal" got me and Mincer all confused. :33:

still, people that have tried the Black Winter say that it is more versatile than the name implies. and a more "Bright, gainy sound" than many of the other Duncan options.

'Black Metal' has been around for what, like 35 years? I don't think of it as modern at all.
