...the mounting holes on either side of the new bridge are a lot smaller than the holes on the original. Crap. So what I am currently trying to do is remove the saddles from the original bridge and replace those with the saddles from the new bridge.
I have successfully removed 4 saddles so far but am having a hard time removing the last 2.
This is a good time to ask if anybody else has done this? Are the Les Paul type bridges designed to have just the saddles removed?
It looks to me like you can since the saddle pops out since there is a slot for the entire saddle to lift up from the top.
But since this is a Les Paul and I'm kinda new to working on these, I'd like some info on this.
Otherwise can you provide a link or two for another bridge replacement? The mounting holes on either side of the bridge look to be about a quarter inch in diameter.
