I ordered a replacement bridge for my Epiphone Les Paul but...

...the mounting holes on either side of the new bridge are a lot smaller than the holes on the original. Crap. So what I am currently trying to do is remove the saddles from the original bridge and replace those with the saddles from the new bridge.

I have successfully removed 4 saddles so far but am having a hard time removing the last 2.

This is a good time to ask if anybody else has done this? Are the Les Paul type bridges designed to have just the saddles removed?

It looks to me like you can since the saddle pops out since there is a slot for the entire saddle to lift up from the top.

But since this is a Les Paul and I'm kinda new to working on these, I'd like some info on this.

Otherwise can you provide a link or two for another bridge replacement? The mounting holes on either side of the bridge look to be about a quarter inch in diameter.

Should be the case, when I replaced my Epiphone's Bridge for an ABR-1 the saddles all came out easily. Post some pics of the bridges?

Your replacement looks like an ABR-1 style bridge. Your biggest issue here is going from metric to standard. There are ways around it like buying conversion posts. If it turns out that's a gotoh ABR-1 bridge and it IS metric, I'm stumped. Where'd you buy it?

Got it at Stewmac. I think I've located a Gotoh bridge for imports with wider holes that say quarter inch. That will work. But I want to find one that is slotted. Otherwise that's just one more thing I gotta monkey with and I would prefer not to.

Buy some conversion studs.

Faber and I think Philadelphia Luthier have them.

Philipelphia sells some excellent conversion posts here. They're $12 but they'll screw in no issues. Cheaper than buying another bridge.

Okay. Done deal and ordered the conversion posts. Thank You Very Much.
