I scored the Blonde Bandmaster Finally!!!!

Oh man, this amp is amazing....heres the story

It so happens that the guy who i bought the amp from used to play guitar with my dad in 1983-85 at a club called gabriel's by MIA airport. Right when i told him my name he recognized right away and threw me an awesome deal-$570 for the amp. He's also really good friends with the owner of the local amp shop, Reflections, and says that if i ever need to get an amp repaired or checked out, just call him up and drop off the amp at the repair shop and he'll tell his buddy to fix it up free of charge. Man am i lucky as hell....

That's sweet. Who plays that kind of amp? I saw the new Stray Cats DVD and I think he was playing a blond Fender, great tone.

i took a look at the serial and the paper inside, its an AA763, i know the blackface one is AB763. Aren't AA's alot more valuable or better sound quality? like the AA165 bassman and the AB165 bassman, an AA could go for $800

Brian Setzer gets some sweet a$$ tone out of those Blond Fenders. So Quencho092 must have gotten one sweet amp. If you get a chance, take a look at the new Stray Cats DVD, Rumble in Brixton. I wasn't a huge Stray Cats fan until I saw that DVD, great show and lots of cool extras. Rock On!!

I believe the AA circuit makes this a blackface amp in blonde tolex -- a transitional model. Check the Fender Amp Field Guide for more info. I have a BF/blonde transitional Tremolux that sounds absolutely great. Nice score indeed!

Did you get just the head or the cab too.....or combo??
I came across an old lady who had a blond piggyback amp rig in her closet and tried to pry it away from her. She said she was saving it for a grandchild, or something.
Man, I tried so hard to get her to sell it but she wouldn't budge. Nice score!

Good job man. This is too surreal. Just yesterday, my boss scored a 60's, Blonde Bandmaster, and he brought it in for some work. It makes it seem less like a job, when he brings in stuff like that to work on, other than our normal production stuff. After a cap job, and a new tranny, this amp sounds glorious! I hope yours sounds good as well. Good Luck!
