My noisy, buzzy sounding les paul has been re-painted. On the INSIDE.

3 coats of shielding paint, rewiring, and the loud, annoying BUZZZZZ is nearly completely gone. It's really only there when I'm not touching my strings, and even then it's slight.

Shielding rox!!!:headbang:

It was actually kinda fun to. I like paint.:13:

Re: I shield guitar...SOUND GOOD NOW!!!

How did you go about grounding the shield? Did the metal switches and pots coming into contact with the shield ground it, or did you have to drill a screw into the cavity and run a ground wire to it? Also, how many coats of paint did you use? I'm in the process of doing this to a couple guitars, so I'd be interested to hear how you did this. Thanks.

I didn't even drill, I just taped a wire to the wall and ran that to ground. It seems to work fine. Might not be very reliable, lol. But it seems to be working for now.
