I think it's time for a looper/router pedal

I have gone from using 3 to 4 pedals to using almost 10 at times. The problem is even if all are true bypass, there is some bad tone loss on the highs and tap dancing is annoying.

I can't decide if I should just rotate different pedals or make a big board with a switching system. Will prob do a TGWIF and make a big board and a small one... It's all fun hehe.

Check out Loopmaster

http://www.loop-master.com/

I have one, it greatly improves the tone, built like a tank, and reasonably priced. The bad part is it takes him up to 8 weeks to build you one, but IMO it's well worth the wait.

You shouldn't be completely true bypass though, you should put a decent pedal or buffer at the beginning and end of your chain- on mine I have a Boss TU-2 up front, then in the end and loop use a Boss NS-2, and use the looper on any pedals that aren't 100 % true bypass. You can turn the pedals off but they'll still act as a buffer, and Boss buffers are really good. That preserves tone the best.

Also, your tone is only as good as its weakest link. On your pedalboard, use high quality patch cables like George L, Lava or equivalent to connect the pedals.

If you're using a 4 cable method for the effects loop, consider a Pedalsnake. I got one, and using the Pedalsnake with Geoge L interconnects, and the 2 Boss pedals as buffers, Loopmaster, my rig is dead quiet, tone is bright, and really barely need the Noise Supressor on. I also use a Pedaltrain board. It feels like I took a foam blanket off my rig

Yeah, I've got george l cable and a buffer after my fuzz and again last in the chain. Helps, but it's a bit of a pain stepping on these things lol. I'm looking at loop master and road rage now.

I've been using the GCX unit from Voodoo Labs. Best way to rout your signal for pedals. I wish that it had more than just 8 loops, but maybe it's better that I cut down on some pedals.

Take the time to decide what you need, what you want and what you feel getting those things are worth to you and go form there.

Most often a small to med size passive switcher is more than enough other times a digital controlled system is needed.

If you go passive I say contact Brian at Loop-Master, tell him hat you want and let him work you up a switcher.

If you need any help feel free to drop me a PM!

I've got a dual loop pedal I may sell, if anyone here is serious about getting one...and paying less.

I'm sorta on the fence about it though, because although I don't use it now, I could see some use for it at some point.

I was using one side of it to put a few tone sucking pedals on their own loop, which was useful for combining pedals with one click. The other loop was a straight line to a tuner......but I have a tuner pedal now.

I'll let my dual loop box go for $70 shipped.
