I think I've been converted ... I'm a Strat-Man!

Re: I think I've been converted ... I'm a Strat-Man!

now I want to post a photo of my Fender Strat with the 3 hums (2 custom shop, 1 production), so Aceman can see how a hum in the middle works. but...if all I have to offer a thread is a photo, well, then.....

Ahh - the downside of being well... err you know... Not sure how I'm going to pull off that bikini! :p

Re: I think I've been converted ... I'm a Strat-Man!

Everybody needs at least one strat.

I've been paged.

Hmmm, we just had a thread about LP's, and most guys said don't sweat it, you don't need an LP, yet 'Everybody needs a Strat?' No one seems to question that. Let me work on that one a while. I'll multitask and also ponder the meaning of: 'They're the chicken of all guitars.' I have no idea what that means, but I'm sure it's deep.

Re: I think I've been converted ... I'm a Strat-Man!

I've recently converted as well! I played an American Standard for the first time about 2 months ago, and ever since, I've just been having hardcore GAS for a Strat. Currently in the process of figuring out some money to purchase one.

They are just absolute tone machines! They just sound like pure heaven.

your own on-topic photo != cliché image macro

So says the guy that was just crying in post #10 about being picked on.

Don't start none. Won't be none.

So here is yet another civil thread where you jump in to stir the pot. You know what I don't care if I get an infraction, you need to know this childish behavior is beyond borish. If you can't add anything to the conversation but digs and micro analysis of every word people post just stay on the sidelines. No one cares about your charts, stats or opinions at this point. I honestly think at this stage in the game your only goal is to see how many members of the SDUGF you can inflame and get banned without getting banned yourself.

Can't we all just get along like one big happy SD forum family? No? Okay then.

Re: I think I've been converted ... I'm a Strat-Man!

Why 'convert' to Strats? Better to just add them to your collection. ;)

I love the feel and the playability but at the end of the day still love the Gibson type tone. It is nice to have a single coil in the guitar to spread my tonal wings. At the end of the day I am a high output humbucker type of guy. That is my comfort zone, that is what I will always come back to tonally.

Re: I think I've been converted ... I'm a Strat-Man!

I like super Strats. The standard ones are just ok in my book. I do have one that's got an unusual body made of clear fluorescent orange plexiglass that I intend on making an H-S-H.

Super Strat's are the bees knees. I've been eyeballing a Charvel San Dimas for god knows how long, but a Fender SSS Strat is what I crave right now, and it needs to be remedied, or else my GAS will not be satisfied.

I got a HH 85 Ibanez Roadstar that is my baby. I would love to do another project one. Those 80's Ibanez tremolos are sweet.

Gibson's sound great, they just don't play as nice, and have tuning problems. I'm constantly having to stop playing and tune it on every Gibson I've played, and to me, it's just not worth all that to me. I'm sure for some it may be worth it, but not to me. Most Fender Strats I've played have played better than 95% of the Gibson's I've tried.

I would love to get my hands on an old Ibanez Roadstar II.
