I think I've found the Craigslist deal of my young life

On my local Craigslist, a man is selling a Mesa boogie triple rec head for 550. Cash is short on my end, so I offered him a tiny terror head and 150 in cash and he accepted. I go tomorrow to try it out and pick it up. Am I missing something or is this deal fantastic?

This is similar to a add I saw a couple weeks ago. It was a Peavy 6505+ and 4x12 cab all together for $600.

Ask if their is anything wrong with it or has it had any work done to it. And yes bring a friend if possible someone who can "hold their own" if get what i'm saying.

Yeah I'm bringing my friends who wrestle in college, so they're very thick. But we are meeting in the nicest part of Saint Luis, I just thought this deal was too insane to pass up

Yeah, that's a good deal.

I missed out on some sort of 44 watt Mesa recently (can't remember the model name) that the guy was letting go for $250, because his amp tech told him whatever was wrong with it was "more than just bad tubes". I'm guessing it just needed recapped. Big whoop. But the ad disappeared within hours, so I'm sure somebody snapped it up.

Yeah...keep in mind, that amp is 15-20 years old. Make sure you play it...not just for 3o seconds. You need to play it at volume for a few minutes...play some different "stuff"...let the amp get hot, and then see what you think.
LOTS of tubes in that mp...that is fine if you need it. A re-tube will be "expensive".

Update, went to stl, did not bring wallet, or anything of value into man's apartment, took one look inside, told him I didn't want to go in (loads of people and I felt uncomfortable) and we decided to meet at the guitar center another time. I did not want to go in there, and he was "without a car for the week man". So instead of going to try it, I'll wait that one out. My life>a new amp head
