I think Kahler has lost their minds

The problem is when they fall out of the nut slot...

Yeah, I would guess if they went that slack, they would jump out of the nut. So it is still more of a 'complete system' thing, unless you don't do the dive bomb thing.

$39 For that bar.... I thought $30 for the Spyder/Killer arm was bad. I picked up a ¼" bar and threader to make my own, but I don't have a way to bend it :laugh2:

I do like the adjustability of a Kahler over a Floyd. As far as the 'feel', I can get used to either. It is funny to me that the design of the most popular trem systems on guitar is like 40+ years old.

Just wait till you find out how old the most common tuning system on a guitar is.

I think that Floyd Rose got it right, essentially, and that the improvement on his basic system has been negligible. The only real exception I can think of is the Steinberger TransTrem, but that is almost as old and has proved to be too good for this world. Kahlers offer a legitimate alternative, but I am guessing that the only reason there was ever a market created for them was because Floyd Rose was distributed exclusively by Kramer back in the day.

I think the Sophia is a huge advancement on the Floyd Rose design. No tools needed for string changes, global tuning, built-in stop block stabilizer...

It's amazing what CNC technology has made not only possible, but practical. Before that, those bridges would have taken a small fortune in machine time....

Yeah, the TransTrem, with each string moving at a different rate was well before its time. I am curious to try the Sophia, VegaTrem, and the Babicz, too. I refuse to believe that the Floyd is the best we got out there.

love that guitar, but hate the look of the trem. im sure i could get used to it, but on first glance, thats a hard no.

looks like an great piece of engineering though!

The Babicz is my bread and butter I play those terms more than anything else. Great action and tuning stability but I think the high point of the Babicz is the insane sustain and comfortability.

Hey - VHS wasn't either, but best does not mean "winner"
