i'll probably just get the one can and sand the whole thing with only 320 grit once the can is all out then. then get some red/white pinstriping paint:scratchch

If you don't fill the wood it will always look like Mary Kay something. Can't recommend doing it.

I do have an unfilled Ash guitar finished in anthracite. Looks reasonably cool. But that is Ash and has real streaks. You just have moon meteor shower craters.

sanding with 320 is gonna leave very noticeable scuff marks just so you know.

Save the cost of the paint and just take some sandpaper to it. The less finish the better. I think I'm beginning to understand why Rory Gallahger, John Lennon and others stripped their guitars.When's the last time you saw a tree that was painted? It just isn't natures way.

i didnt think rory stripped his. i thought he just dragged it around for years and years etc and then never had it refinished.

i did strip it, it's been natural for quite a while. with stickers and sharpies.

When's the last time you saw a tree strung up and with a pickup mounted in it?
