Re: I want a 4 thousand dollar Superstrat!
The
PC1 is a great guitar. I have a couple of them. I could do without the sustainer feature, but the feel and the tone is worth it. Very versatile. The neck is big, but not as huge as some people would like to have a reason to complain about. The neck was the basis for a
custom build I just had made.
PC-1 is still a vintage modern thing. Probably great for anything, including Pitbulls, Diezels, Modern Oranges, Rectos, EVH's, Mark series Mesas, Bogner high gain Series 1 ( modern classic), as well as Marshall JMP's and JCMs including modified. Old Old Fenders/Marshalls/Hiwatts/Oranges ( vintage) might be pushing it.
The thing about this Petrucci guitar is the pure TRUE modern aspect (I was actually also looking at the 'LUKE III 'model EMM, and it seems more 'classic vintage modern' ). I think , like the Lukather, the overall build platform of the Petrucci guitar is true classic, but the departure is completely modern. Thats what I am wanting. To be honest, its NOT to replace my classic vintage isntrumentage whatsoever. These old vintage style instruments still PLAY the best and sound the best, well, over the old amps that are also the Best sounding, because sadly, no matter how well a modern instrument plays, it doesn't actually play as well as a old guitar up to a point in the action, because of the true true tonality in the interaction between tone and feel , of course, only capable to be realized on a vintage guitar in almost all instances.
However, for yuor modern high gain, high-mid gain , you get unparalleled play action, ergonomics, electronics and everything you'd want in a modern player with this Petrucci.
Also, no one has ever mentioned the superb fully immaculately finished in form and fit oil hand rubbed rosated maple neck. Ans also, no harm n no foul to ditch the stock pickups and install Duncans.
