I want a new guitar

Ok, so I may have mentioned this before but my Cort just doesn't do it for me anymore. My Epiphone G400 is good but I feel like I want something better. Last guitar I bought was my Epiphone and that was alittle over 2 years ago, if I remember correctly. I've been working like crazy trying to save money so I can eventually be on my own but I think I owe it to myself to get a nice axe. If anyone has any options, feel free to share. Currently my price range is under $800, but I'll make some exceptions. I don't want to rush into anything. Here are a few I've been looking at lately....

NOOOOOO NO ESP ive also had a couple fenders and my opinion SCHECTER ALL THE WAY MAN i just got a c-1 custom xxx schecter and my freind wanted to trade his gibby straight up for it

get the schector the is no other option dude.

I thought I heard good things about the EC-400ATS but that's why I decided to ask around here. The Schecter does seem like a great value, especially for what they are going for.

that schecter your looking at is worth twice as much as they are asking for it if they doubled the price i would still buy it.

but thats the good thing about schecters they not to expensive and they rock all you need to do is put a JB and a JAZZ combo in there and it will rock down your roof

I remember playing the C-1 artist a year or so ago. If that guitar was maybe $200 more I would still buy it. If it got into the $1000 range I'd start looking at Gibsons and American Fenders, but that's just me.

I have a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser, and all I can say is, you won't be disappointed. It still might be a good idea to play all the guitars in person, because there's always the lemon with the 48lb body lurking out there. Besides, the one thing you can't tweak on a guitar, the neck, is also the defining factor between "feels right" and "can't stand it".

I'd say save up a bit more and go for something better that will be more likely to stay with you for a lifetime! I am not saying that those guitars are not good... just.. if you are going to make another buy, get something really nice!

The FMT and QMT Telecasters (with Duncans and coil taps) are made in Korea from what I know, played one at de sto'.

I'd say save up a bit more and go for something better that will be more likely to stay with you for a lifetime! I am not saying that those guitars are not good... just.. if you are going to make another buy, get something really nice!

Yeah, that was another thought. I was thinking if I could get around a grand I could get a SG, maybe a LP Studio.

if you have an epi g400 than why get another sg. the only fifference would be $600 and the name on the headstock

The EC-400AT is a great guitar, however if you get an ESP get a 1000 series model, they are much nicer than the 400's and will last much longer too. Personally I like the schecter a lot but have found that they tend to break and damage easily. Great guitars but do not last. If you want something similair to a C-1 but much more sturdy check out a washburn x-50. Much better build quality.

Most Schecters I've played have been dead as the wood in my door, they look awesome and feel great but when you play it's like bleh. My VB-200 totally blows away any Schecter I've ever played.


The Korean Fenders rule ( the FMT ), those things are just so sweet. I've never played a toronado so I can't say anything about those but I'd rather get the 400 dollar showmaster HH they have than that thing.

Learn some grammar, and also the Schecter is the best guitar on this page in YOUR opinion.

I recommend that you should save up for something you really want, whether it be one of the guitars you posted or one thats more expensive. Go to some shops play some guitars, and let the guitars themselves do the talking.

EDIT: Out of those guitars I have only played the FMT Tele and an older Highway 1. Both were great guitars StratTom, what type of music do you play?

I'd give the entire line of schecter's a serious look. They play as good as guitars two or three times their price. That's not just my opinion either. The 006 is my favorite series.

I've thought about the 1000 series. I like the sunburst one with the duncans. I played one before and I really liked it. Never got to play the EC400AT but I'm hoping to so I can compare/contrast.

Yeah those FMTs like cool and so do the showmasters. Completely forgot about those I'm gonna have to check those out, esp. for 400 bucks!

I guess I basically play punk and hardcore. I'm not a shredder, basically play cords and attempt to make some leads.

I think I may have played one of the 006's a few years back. I'm going to have to check it out again.
