I've always liked Danelectro stuff for this type of thing, old ibanez soundtanks, the old rockman guitar ace things were cool, etc

EH Q-Tron envelope filter. Every kind of squack imagineable. I think the Plus model has it's own FX loop too, so you can put other sounds into the filter sweep.

+1. I have one of those, and I love the godawful noise I can get with other stuff in the FX loop. Combine with a Memory Man for even more fun.

Another one of my favorite effects is using a Pignose as a preamp. You can also loop a Pignose into itself and then out into an amp, and twist the dial to get different electronic noises at deafening volumes. Sure way to clear any room. I did that in my one man band for 30 minutes in the quad at lunch for battle of the bands my freshman year in high school. They loved me!

When it comes to having a simple dirt pedal, I am a huge fan of my '70's Big Muff. But I also like the Hot Tubes for a creamy overdrive sound, as opposed to an all-out fuzz tone like the Big Muff.

Name something SPECIFIC. Dano has some, but also has a lot of cheap meh. Which sound tank??? Scholz is awesome period. Nothing funcky/skanky about those.

I had a lot of Dano's I liked to use if my memory serves me correctly my favorites where the Reverse Delay, French Toast Octave Fuzz, Daddy O, Cool Cat 18v chorus, and the Fab Tone.

The soundtanks I liked in particular where the chorus and delay.

I'd say EHX pedals but they aren't really low end by any stretch of the imagination granted they nail a lot of lo-fi sounds.

I can't find an envelope or autowah I like better and I got mine for $25.00! Has a REALLY nasty little growl to it and is just plain fun!
