I want to build a Pickup Test Bed guitar

If you do go with a Strat style with pickguard system, you could set up the pickguard so that it attaches to the body with magnets instead of small screws. Would require a little body work and gluing the magnets to their spots but it would certainly save time from having to remove all the screws. And it would probably work with only 4 or 5 magnets. Small ones too, enough to keep it in place. Otherwise, rear load is the way to go.

if its a test guitar just put in the minimal amount of screws

Magnets can be very strong. I love when they are used for backplates, and electronics cavities- a much cleaner look than screws.

Nah, they aren't *that* strong. And luthiers have been using magnets for control plates for years. It looks great, and it is very functional.

Mechanical and electrical quick swap. By using multiple of the same “module” you can set the pickup height, and by using the same electronics you’ve taken that out of the equation. I’d use Molex connectors for the budget version of electrical quick connect. The mechanical you’ve already got some ideas.
